Visual

Let there be light.

Of the things I love. Of the things I feel for.

I'm not a photographer, just one who loves to capture images and beautiful moments. Enjoy and feel free to comment :)

Aural

The unseen. An enigmatic component. A global language, a powerful translation tool.

An introspective journey, a rhythmic progression.
Endless wave.

Beat by beat. Melody by melody.

Take to the skies.

Let the music surround you.

We are one.

Transitions

Transitions in live, transitions in music. Sometimes the transitions go in sync without adjustments, sometimes they require a bit more effort. Goes both ways. I hope I make the adaptation fast, and comfortably.

Aly & Fila @ Zirca, 29th August. Can't wait, I've always been lamenting and waiting for them to hit our shores, and finally, they're here. This should be their first visit here. CAN'T WAIT.

Sad but probably true

Trentemoller's remix of his own song Moan, featuring a music video of Laika the dog in a imagined recreation of what might have happened, and its eventual demise. Not for the depressed.

pic of the day: couple by the bus stop
took this picture about 2 years ago, on the way to school, during my exchange in St Gallen, Switzerland.
I remember it as a nice, natural but long kiss and as a sight that is rarely seen back home here.

more videos from that night...

jon o'bir @ zirca

⊆ 3:21 PM by arpeggio | ˜ 0 comments »

my co-blogger has just reminded me that i have yet to post an entry in recent times with a "when's your next blog update coming" statement.

Well, all i can think of now was the night out last night at Zirca. Jon o'bir was in town and he's a performer. he looked at home on the stage of zirca with the psychadelic lights blasting in the background. music was driving and the crowd was into it, including my bf. been a while since i've seen him so into the music and dancing to his heart's content. :)

i took a flaming lambo once i reached zirca but oddly, it was weak and made no contribution to making me feel high. what drove me for the 3 hours non stop on the dance floor was the music and the amazing build up. I still remember those days where i would hear trance and house but my body wouldn't know how to move to it, and on the other hand i would move effortlessly to the beats of r&b music. Now, it seems i've been converted to a 'trancehead', a term used by my fellow blogger. the 'dirty' beats of hip hop and r&b barely keeps me moving for more than 5 seconds (unless i'm intoxicated) and music like last night feels right at home and lights up a little fire in my heart.

(finally! after 10 attempts to upload this!)
shows how happy the crowd was last night =)

Woot

Had a great night out with a couple of friends from way back, its amazing how after all these years people can just come together and mingle, have fun, like the years that have since flown by were mere blips in time. Pump Room was great as always, not the first time I've had a brilliant night out there. The house music section to the end really brought out the dancing side in me, and I loved it. Due to a minor miscommunication, I ended up being split from my buddy for the night, and had to wait inside Rebel, and then Zirca later on, for another friend to go back home. Rebel is reminiscent of the now-defunct Smoove room of the late MOS Singapore. Zirca, on the other hand, seems to have gone in the right direction in my opinion. The large screens on the walls with the visuals was a marked improvement in aesthetics compared to the old MOS, and the placement of the dj booth right in front was a good move as well imho. Yes, it does the whole superstar dj glorification thing, but i guess it gives the dancers a focal point visually. Reached home at near 7 in the morning, headed to bed straight.

Jon O'Bir will be at Zirca next Saturday, and I should probably be headed down to catch his set. A tidbit for the upcoming Jon O'Bir gig, this is a video diary of his account of Digital Society V2.0 in Leeds, where he spinned with the likes of Aly & Fila, Solarstone, Greg Downey, and Alex Morph.

Song for the video is Jon O'Bir's I Need You.
